How to Successfuly Buy the Corvette of Your Dreams by Keith Webb

The Chevrolet Vette is definitely considered to be one of the American classic sports cars. And the Chevrolet Corvette, just like a good deal of American sports cars, the Chevy Corvette has its enthusiasts. As A Matter Of Fact, there are a lot of Chevrolet Corvette clubs all across America.

The Chevrolet Vette was 1st presented to the United States in 1953. Since then, the Vette has undergone 5 major evolutions of Vette, along with plenty of small improvements along the way.

If you have incessantly wanted to possess a Corvette, you might consider owning an older model, a used Chevy Corvette. If that is the case, then here is how to purchase a Corvette. After all, there are a lot of conditions when buying a Chevrolet Vette.

You may want to own a first generation Chevrolet Vette, a.k.a. the C1 Chevy Corvette, if you desire an original. For the 1st two years, the Vettes came with six-cylinder engines. Starting in 1955, though, Corvettes came with V-8 engines. In 1956, the Chevy Corvette underwent a large restyling that included roll-up windows and a removable hardtop.

If you are needing a 2nd generation Chevrolet Corvette, also called the Stingray Corvette, the C2 Corvette, you have a few options. The Stingray is one of the most wanted and exciting of the Chevy Corvette models. First introduced in 1963, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray came with an independent rear suspension. For the first time, The Chevrolet Vette was available in a hardtop coupe model. It is important to take note of the Corvette Stingray split window coupe. The split window coupe model was discontinued after only 1 year in production. By 1966, The Corvette could be equipped with a 427-cubic-inch V-8, producing 435 horsepower engine.

If you are particularly fond of the third-generation Mako Shark Chevrolet Vette, also known as the C3 Corvette, then you are in good company. The Mako Shark Corvette is one of the most outrageous Vette ever produced. First introduced in the year 1968, the Mako Shark Chevrolet Corvette came equipped with a removable T-top. 1972 was the last year you could order a Chevy Corvette equipped with chrome bumpers. 1974 was the last year the Chevrolet Corvette came with a big block V-8 engine.

The C4 Vette is what you want if you want to buy a Vette with a great price. The C4 Vette was first introduced in 1984, but we recommend searching for a 1986 or newer Vette if you want to avoid any problems that were associated with the first two years of the C4 Chevy Corvette, 1984 and 1885. Also, 1986 was the first year that a Chevrolet Vette was available as a convertible. In 1986, the Chevrolet Vette had not been available as a convertible in more than 10 years.

Chevrolet Corvettes are generally well-maintained by their previous owners, but keep in mind that many former owners drove them very hard. Vettes have always been equipped with fiberglass bodies, even since the first year of production of the Corvette. Over the years, there have been various problems associated with the fact fact that the Corvette has invariably been equipped with a fiberglass body. So, make sure that you have the Vette checked out thoroughly by a Chevrolet Vette mechanic.

B Body Fun !

Have a few cool old American muscle cars up at Tims right now . That Hemi can put a smile on your face and take you back when life made a little more since . Just forget about how screwed up the world is and take a ride . The GTX 6 Pack got damaged out in Phoenix while at auction when the storm blew through in January . Going to get a paint job i think . The Orange 1971 roadrunner Hemi is in to get the bugs worked out of it and cleaned up a little . Just put some plugs in it and it is running better .
Have a couple very rare Pontiacs up here also . I just took the front clip off of the Monk Cheese Super Duty yesterday . Has a few rust issues and this old Catalina Super Duty car deserves to be put back to perfect ! Tims about done painting the delicate front clip on his Swiss Cheese car and maybe fitting it back together soon . Tim is finishing up on the Interior and it is nice . Will have his Super Duty up for sale soon . Some Pontiac guy will be very lucky to own this rare car ! I'll see if i can download some pictures of the Monk Super duty also .
